RETURN TO ANTALYA

INTESOL Head Office pays return visit

INTESOL Worldwide directors Lynda Hazelwood and David Buckle returned to Antalya to see their good friends and colleagues at INTESOL Turkey. Once again they enjoyed the fabulous hospitality of their hosts and renewed several acquaintances. The links that were forged on the last visit were evident as the INTESOL party were welcomed with tremendous warmth and friendship and both sides were delighted to meet up again.

Meetings took place between the INTESOL directors and Halil Cil, Owner of INTESOL Turkey and Nejat Can, Director. Several issues were discussed including some new initiatives and collaborations between the two parties.

The hospitality of the Turkish hosts was fantastic as usual and the INTESOL Worldwide party was wined and dined in the traditional Turkish way.

Once again the visitors were taken to a traditional Tukish restaurant where they enjoyed local food and drink and a fantastic atmosphere.

A special treat was in store for David and Lynda when they were supplied with a driver, the friendly Ali, and a car to do some sightseeing. They were driven along the cost and were given a whistle-stop tour of a number of popular local resorts. This was followed by freshly cooked local fish at a restaurant high up on the coast road overlooking some fantastic scenery.

The guests moved on from here to the site of the ruins of the ancient Lycian city and port of Phaselis. The site contained several arches, an amphitheatre and other remains of buildings. Its roots are in ancient Greece but there is also a strong Roman influence. It was amazing to see the buildings still standing after so many years - a fantastic sight!

A number of discussions took place on some very interesting issues and INTESOL Turkey once again proved to be a very innovative and forward-thinking organisation. News of any developments will appear on the INTESOL News page.

Lynda and David were treated royally and were entertained on their last evening by Halil and wife Elif in their luxury apartment. They were wined and dined by their hosts in typical Turkish fashion and received gifts to commemorate their visit.

When it came time to depart the visitors said their goodbyes with heartfelt thanks to their generous hosts for a fabulous time with them. David & Lynda were sorry to leave but they will certainly be back - again!
